Ford Falcon

La Ford Falcon XB qui illustrata fa parte della prima edizione di questo modellino Hot Wheels (serie HW Premiere del 2010).

Lo chassis superiore è in metallo verniciato di giallo, mentre la parte inferiore è in plastica cromata color argento. L’abitacolo è in plastica nera e si estende per tutta la lunghezza del veicolo, fino a formare il radiatore anteriore e la parte posteriore.

Presenta una serigrafia a tre colori:

• il nero, che compone la banda sul cofano, la scritta “GT351”, la soglia delle prese d’aria laterali e l’alettone posteriore;
• il bianco, della piccola scritta “FORD” sul cofano;
• l’arancione, degli indicatori di direzione posteriori.

Infine, le ruote SP5 (con disegno a cinque razze) in plastica nera.

Curiosità

La Ford Falcon XB (costruita e assemblata in Australia) vanta un’influenza di lunga data e persistente sulla cultura popolare occidentale. Veicolo leggendario, è venuto alla ribalta nell’immaginario cinematografico grazie alla sua versione Pursuit Special, protagonista del film Mad Max (1979) di George Miller.

Nella pellicola, grazie all’ambientazione post-apocalittica, alle scene d’azione “on the road” e al plot del film, si trasforma in un simbolo di ribellione che, nei lustri a seguire, ha continuato a ispirare generazioni di appassionati.

Oltre alla presenza filmica, grazie anche alle sue prestazioni (motore V8 da 5,8 litri da circa 300 cavalli), negli anni ’70 risultava una concorrente formidabile sia su strada sia in pista, collocandosi al vertice dell’era delle muscle car australiane.

The upper chassis is made of yellow-painted metal, while the lower part is made of silver-coloured chrome-plated plastic. The passenger compartment is made of black plastic and extends the entire length of the vehicle, forming the front radiator and rear section.

The Ford Falcon XB (built and assembled in Australia) has had a long-standing and enduring influence on Western popular culture. A legendary vehicle, it came to prominence in cinema thanks to its Pursuit Special version, which starred in George Miller's film Mad Max (1979).
